Artist Statement
I love having the ability to take a moment, and freeze it in time on canvas. As an artist, I want my artwork to feel like it is a living tangible moment. Going into the natural world and seeking out a magical relationship with light; how it is reflected in or on its environment, and watching it change is exciting to me. I take a photograph of these moments and then reproduce one of them with my paints on canvas. When I paint, I strive to capture details and colors that created the energy I was connected to when I first experienced the moment. My hope is that when you look at my artwork, you may find yourself feeling like you are in that experience, witnessing it for the first time. I enjoy the challenge of working with acrylic paints in order to create movement on my canvas.
