These art lessons focus on the elements of line and texture, and the principle of patterns. They are my best autumn and fall art lessons for kids ages 4-14.
Autumn, also known as fall, is one of the four seasons. I personally love it the most! The colors are just fabulous this time of year. And the apple pie isn’t too bad either. I think Hobbes is absolutely correct!

Here are my favorite autumn and fall art lessons celebrating all things Autumn and Fall. These lessons were mostly taught during my Lines and Textures Unit for grades TK-8th grade. Lines and textures seem to be everywhere during this amazing transition from summer to winter. I also love the natural juxtaposition of warm and cool colors which is a great color theory connection.
Each lesson focuses on an element of art or principle of design and use a variety of tools and techniques from watercolor to acrylic paint, chalk to oil pastel, printmaking and collage.
While I have labeled the artwork with the grade I taught it for, many of these can easily bridge across more than one grade level. Click on each title to go straight to the lesson plan.
